Penrice

A Welsh floral retreat on the 18th Century Penrice estate

Gower 13th-16thMay 2019

In the heart of the Gower Peninsular with sweeping views to the sea, lies the beautiful and historic Penrice castle estate. Unchanged by time, the castle is the epitome of wild and romantic Wales and the perfect escape for our floral retreat. Inspired by the secret archways and undiscovered trails, the walled gardens and castle towers, we will spend a magical few days of inspiring creativity and friendship.

This is the perfect retreat for those wishing to learn new techniques and develop their floristry skills. Enjoy home cooked meals using locally sourced ingredients, join in a group installation on the beautiful Oxwich beach, enjoy the peace and beauty of the estate, with the company of like minded designers, florists and creatives.

“The great park around Penrice Castle, the deep woodlands that encircle it, and the strange marshlands at its foot are still intact and form a landscape composition that is hard to beat in the whole of South Wales. If you add glimpses of the prow of Oxwich Head and the rich brown background of Cefn Bryn, the whole area lying at the back of the dunes of Oxwich Bay takes on an Arcadian quality”.

The team

Brigitte Girling @mossandstonefloraldesign

Growing up in rural Suffolk, floral artist Brigitte’s love of flowers and nature began as a small child whilst roaming the local country lanes, woods and coastal paths with a faithful Labrador by her side. Her designs draw on the traditions of beautiful, rambling, overgrown gardens, the ever changing seasons and the wild beauty of the Suffolk countryside she still hails from.
