Summer bouquet and photography workshop

I am very excited to collaborate with Leigh @leigh.chappell.flowers for a day of flower styling and photography in the beautiful Herefordshire home of Harriet @yomargey.

Harriet is an amazing gardener, baker and cook and last June I had a lovely trip with friends to her gorgeous house near Ross on Wye. I have known Harriet through Instagram for a while and her family home is the perfect location for a floral workshop. This will be a creative day, with like minded people who enjoy a wander around an english country garden, eating good food, making a seasonal bouquet and exploring the garden’s many hidden gems to practice photography.

If you follow Harriet on Instagram then you know that she lives in an idyllic country home with the famous greenhouse that we all adore seeing through the seasons. She shares glimpses of her life through those little squares full of humour and anecdotes about her garden, family and now famous pets. Bullet the dog and a trio of cats that manage to wangle their way in to many a photo.

Harriet has so many photogenic corners of her garden with numerous greenhouses and chippy rustic doors which are perfect backdrops to the naturalistic garden bouquet we’ll be making under the guidance of Leigh.

Large swathes of Harriet’s garden and meadow are filled with daisies, daucus and cow parsley and we’ll be gathering seasonal flowers and grasses to create a just picked from the garden bouquet. Floral designer Leigh will be sharing her expert tuition so that we can create an individual hand-tie in a meadowesque style.

After a home cooked seasonal lunch and a tour of Harriets garden we’ll create some images together using our bouquets as the main subject.

We’ll explore natural light photography, composition and various backdrop ideas. You don’t need a fancy DSLR camera for the day. All these images were taken last June on my old Iphone 8 and edited in Lightroom and I will be sharing some tips an how to get the best from Iphone photography too.

The price of the day from 10-3.30pm includes coffee, lunch, all flowers and ribbon. You will leave with your own seasonal bouquet so you may need a container to transport it back home.
