I’m excited to announce a brand new floral retreat at Hutton Wandesley Stables in beautiful North Yorkshire. The 3 day-2 night retreat is takes place on June 6-8 2025, created for florists, hobbyists, creative business owners and everyone who wishes to enjoy a few days away exploring the art of floral photography.
What to expect on the Retreat
During this enriching floral retreat you will explore floral photography and design, craft table centrepieces, urn arrangements and bouquets. Additionally, we shall explore colour, floral design, styling and composition in an inspiring and tranquil environment. I will photograph you and your work throughout the retreat so you have captivating imagery for your own use as well as guiding you through capturing your own work in picturesque corners of the garden. The Location
Sasha York has created a stunning walled garden within the family estate at Hutton Wandesley perfect for us to develop and explore our creativity. In just three years she has created a garden of dreams featured on Gardeners world and in various publications. You can follow her garden advice and tips over on @sashinthegarden The garden, greenhouse and outside event barn is ours exclusively to wander and enjoy throughout the retreat. Additionally, we will have an abundance of seasonal flowers to choose from and as well as access to the cutting garden for beautiful roses and extra stems.
Your Ensuite Accomodation
Everyone will have their own, spacious room with en-suite bathroom, but there is plenty of communal space to gather, connect and network over supper and in the evenings with other retreat guests. All our meals will be prepared by local chef Vicky Smith who specialises in delicious vegetarian and Greek inspired recipes.
What is included on the retreat
This is a 3 day-2 night retreat hosted by me with guest teachers for two of the classes. Claire Sutton of Fig and Fern Floral Design will join us to teach a large urn design class. Claire’s love of sustainable, garden led design aligns with my own and she will guide you through making your own seasonal arrangement. Additionally, there will be a relaxing art class led by botanical artist Sophie Roberts . No previous experience is necessary for any classes, just a love for flowers and a joy in expressing creativity. Places are strictly limited to ten because I want everyone to have 1:1 photography guidance and space to create during the retreat.
Information
The investment for this 3 day-2 night retreat is £1800 per person and includes:
All meals, refreshments, a house cocktail and wine with evening supper.
Your own private king or twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom.
Exclusive use of the garden, outdoor event barn and greenhouse.
All flowers, bespoke ceramic vessels and pinfrogs used in the workshops
Tuition and photography from myself and guest teachers Claire and Sophie
