Next May I am co-hosting a floral photography retreat in southwest France at the beautiful and unique Chateau de St Paul with local flower growers, Tanya and Dag Muller. Just thirty minutes from Bergerac amidst the quiet rural setting of the little village of Boudy de Beauregard, this medieval château is the perfect backdrop to spend a few days immersed in the art of natural flower design and floral photography in France.
What to expect on the Floral Photography Retreat
During this enriching floral photography retreat, we’ll delve in to the art of floral photography and design, crafting exquisite table centrepieces and natural garden inspired bouquets with local, seasonal flowers. You will have the opportunity to explore colour, design, styling and composition. We’ll capture it all through photography and I’ll be on hand to teach you my way of visual story telling and creating stand out imagery. I will be photographing throughout the retreat so you will take away captivating photos for your own use. I visited the Château in July and explored the many beautiful corners to photograph in and around the grounds including a quaint ancient chapel with magical morning light. This retreat is suitable for complete beginners, hobbyists and enthusiasts and anyone who wants to take time out to recharge their creativity. Who is hosting the retreat?
I will be co hosting this retreat with Tanya and Dag Muller of La Fleur Blanche who moved to southwest France in early 2024. Tanya previously had a career in education and switched to learn floral design. Dag is an experienced horticulturist and has gardened all around the world. They are both passionate about farming organically and will be growing all the flowers that we use on the retreat. I have run floral photography workshops and retreats for a number of years and love the warmth and buzz that comes from a group of like minded people enjoying a few days creating together away from the pressures of day to day life.
The Retreat Venue
Tanya and Dag did a lot of research to find a venue that was perfect for this type of retreat. There are many Chateaux in the region, but this one is beautifully restored by husband and wife team Adrian and Karine over the past 20 years. They host weddings and events and are used to welcoming guests to the Chateau and each ensuite room is uniquely and elegantly decorated.
Information for the Floral Photography Retreat
The investment for this 5 day-4 night floral photography retreat is 1900 euros per person and includes:
All meals, refreshments including wine with evening supper.
Your own private room with ensuite bathroom.
Exclusive use of the garden and pool weather permitting
All flowers, bespoke vessels used in the workshops
Tuition in floral design and photography from myself and guest teachers
